Noida Expressway Gets Tough on Breakdowns
To tackle the constant traffic jams caused by broken-down vehicles on the Noida Expressway, the Noida Traffic Police is cracking down on commercial vehicles. With 8 to 10 lakh vehicles using the expressway daily, even a single breakdown can cause major delays. Now, commercial vehicle owners will face hefty fines if their vehicles break down and block traffic.
Because the Noida Expressway is constantly jammed with the 8 to 10 lakh vehicles using it daily, especially the stretch connecting Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi, and the Yamuna Expressway, the Noida Traffic Police is taking action. They’re now fining commercial vehicle owners heavily if their vehicles break down and cause traffic. This new rule is meant to finally address the constant traffic problems on this busy road.
Traffic jams are a huge headache on the expressway connecting Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and the Yamuna Expressway, with over 500,000 people using it daily. To combat this, a new law will fine drivers between Rs 5,000 and Rs 20,000 for blocking the road, under Section 201 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
This means that if you block the road on the Noida Expressway, you’ll be punished according to Section 201 of the Motor Vehicles Act. The fine for doing this can be anywhere from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000. Essentially, the amount you have to pay will depend on how serious the obstruction is.
