Taylor Swift Sets New Record At MTV VHAs 2024

MTV VMAs Awards:

The 2024 MTV VMAs celebrated female artists, culminating in Taylor Swift’s victory for video of the year and Katy Perrly’s recognition with a lifetime achievement award. Taylor Swift has cemented her status as the queen of the MTV VMAs. winning seven awards, including Video of the Year.

Taylor Swift’s dominance at the MTV Video Music Awards continued unabated, as she shattered Beyonce’s record for most VMAs won by a solo artist. Starting the night with a heart felt tribute to the 9/11 anniversary, Swift went on to claim seven awards, including the prestigious Video of the Year for her collaboration with Post Halone,’For Night’ ,her 30th VMA win surpassed Beyonce’s previous record of 25, solidifying Swift’s position as the un disputed queen of the VMAs

Megan thee Stallion, the charismatic host of the 40th Annual MTV Video Music Awards at long Island’s UBS Arena paid homage to iconic VMAs moments, such as Britney Spears infamous snake outfit. The rapper also treated the audience to a dynamic performance featuring Japnese Rapper Yuki Chiba.

While Eminem kicked off the show with a nostalgic nod to his iconic 2000 performance, the 2024 MTV VMAs were ultimately a celebration of female artists, with a diverse group of female musicians taking center stage.

Sabrina Carpenter, a rising star on the music scene, showcased her versatility with three stunning performances at the VMAs. She sang “Please Please Please” from a glamorous shining, shared a tender moment with an alien for “Taste”, and a teaser group of astonauts during her performance of “Espresso” which won Song of the Year.

Over whelmed with emotion, Carpenter expressed her gratitude during her acceptance speech saying,”This is truly special, I’m so grateful for my incredible fans and for the amazing people who have supported me on this journey. And a big thank you to that delicious espresso!”

Lisa, the talented rapper of Black pink, claimed the Best K-Pop award for hr solo hit “Rockstar”. Meanwhile, Brazilian artist Anitta won Best Latin for her infectious track “Mil Veces”.

In a grand breaking moment, South African artist Tyla won the male-dominated Best Afrobeats category for her popular song “Water”. Accepting the award, Tyla emphasized the global impact of African music, stating. The success of ‘Water’ proves that African music can be pop music. It’s time to recognize the diversity of African music beyobd Afrobeats.

Katy Perry won the night’s lifetime achievement prize, the Video Vanguard Award, for the Seventh Consecutive this year. She performed a medley of her biggest hits, including Dark Horse, ET, California Curls, Teenage Dream, I Kissed a Girl and Firework, after that, she was introduced by her husband, actor Orlando Boom.

Best new artist award won by Rising star Chapper Roan, dedicating her win to “all the drag artists who inspire me” and “quer and trans people that fuel pop”. But the night, as usual belonged to Swift, who capped off the evening by becoming the only artist to ever win the night’s top award-video of the year-five times.
