New ISRO Chairman, V Narayanan has been announced by the Union government as the next chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation, succeeding S Somanath. He will also assume the role of secretary for the Department of Space.
V Narayanan will take over as the ISRO chief on January 14, replacing S Somanath, according to an order from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
He will serve as the Secretary of the Department of Space and Chairman of the Space Commission for two years or until further notice, as reported by ANI.
The official order confirmed, ‘Shri V. Narayanan, Director of the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre, Valiamala, has been appointed for a period of two years starting January 14, 2025, or until further orders, whichever comes first.
