English Official Language Of USA
English Official Language Of USA: On Saturday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that English would be the country’s official language. He said this decision would help bring unity to a nation shaped by immigration from around the world.
The White House released an order from Trump stating that it is “long past time” for English to be declared the official language of the U.S.
“A common language is essential for a united and strong society. The United States benefits when its people can communicate and share ideas in one shared language,” the order said.
The new order says government agencies can still choose how much support to offer in other languages. It does not require any changes to the services they already provide.
It also states that agency leaders have the authority to decide what is needed to carry out their work and deliver government services effectively to the American people.

In his first weeks as president, Trump signed many executive orders to push his right-wing policies.
However, some of his orders are being challenged in court, especially those that try to cut federal funding approved by Congress.
The White House acknowledges that over 350 languages are spoken in the U.S., but the order states that English has been the country’s language since its founding. It also notes that key documents like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were written in English.
According to 2019 U.S. government data, nearly 68 million people speak a language other than English at home. While English is the most spoken language, more than 40 million people speak Spanish at home.
The U.S. also has many other immigrant languages, including Chinese and Vietnamese, as well as several Native American languages.
