Rajkummar Rao is so drawn to small-town comedies, it’s like he’s stuck on a loop between Varanasi, Rishikesh, and Chanderi. ‘Bhool Chuk Maaf” is built around a time loop concept. The story follows Ranjan Tiwari, played by Rajkummar Rao, a simple and lovable man who is deeply in love with a girl named Titli, played by Wamiqa Gabbi.

The two are eager to tie the knot, but there’s one big hurdle—Titli’s father lays down a strict condition: Ranjan must secure a government job if he wants to marry her. Desperate to meet the demand, Ranjan turns to a shady fixer named Bhagwaan Das, portrayed by the ever-entertaining Sanjay Mishra. Bhagwaan Das is known for arranging government jobs—for a price, of course.

Soon, Ranjan gets the job, and it seems like everything is falling into place. But just when things start looking good, something strange happens—Ranjan begins to relive the same day over and over again, specifically the day of his haldi ceremony. No matter what he does, he wakes up stuck in that same moment, like he’s trapped in an endless loop. He tries to explain this bizarre situation to the people around him, but nobody understands or believes him. Why is he stuck in this loop? What’s causing it? And how will he break free? The answers slowly unfold as the film progresses.

Director Karan Sharma’s story takes a long time to get going—maybe because it’s about a time loop! The whole first half feels slow. Some of the dialogues are clever, but the overall screenplay feels uneven. Rajkummar Rao’s good comic timing helps a little, but not enough. The movie also feels very similar to other films made by Maddock Films, like Mimi, Luka Chuppi, and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya—even some of the same actors are used. To make things worse, the family members in the film don’t seem to share much chemistry, making their scenes feel flat.

Movies like this usually work well when the actors have a natural connection, so their jokes and teasing feel real. But in this film, that connection is missing. However, the bond between Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi slowly becomes better and feels more real as the movie goes on.

A day after the JioHotstar domain was offered to Reliance by its owners, Jainam and Jivika Jain, the JioStar website went live.

Originally, the domain was purchased by the Dubai-based siblings from a Delhi-based app developer as a gesture of support for his education.

Before the generous offer, the Delhi-based app developer had explored selling the domain name to Reliance Industries or Viacom18 as a means to fund his education at Cambridge University.

Dubai-based siblings Jainam and Jivika Jain have purchased the JioHotstar domain and are planning to gifting it to Reliance.

Thirteen-year-old Jainam and ten-year-old Jivika Jain have issued a statement asserting that their decision to offer the domain name to Reliance was made independently.

“With all the discussions happening, we now think it might be best for Team Reliance to have this domain, if they want it. We are happy to give jiohotstar.com to them for free, with all the proper paperwork. To be clear, this is entirely our choice. No one from Reliance or any legal group has contacted us or pressured us in any way. We made this decision on our own, without any pressure from friends, family, or anyone else,” Jainam and Jivika said.

The siblings even extended a helping hand, providing contact details – jainam@1xl.com and jivika@1xl.com – for Reliance to easily reach out if interested. In a move that further fuels speculation, they mentioned they’d handle the transfer “smoothly.” This leaves the door open for a potential Reliance takeover, but the young duo also expressed being content to continue their own endeavors.

Cast Performances

It’s refreshing to see Saqib Saleem back in action. His portrayal of KD is compelling, but the character’s impact could have been more profound. Sikander Kher shines as the dedicated Citadel loyalist, Shaan. Simran makes a strong impression as Zooni, although her character’s potential isn’t fully realized on screen. Thalaivaasal Vijay, Shashank Vyas, Soham Majumdar, and Shivankit Singh Parihar contribute solid performances within the confines of their roles.

Raj & DK’s Citadel Honey Bunny is a departure from their usual quirky, original creations. While the duo’s trademark humor and style are evident, the show’s adherence to the global Citadel narrative limits its creative freedom. The core plot, involving two gifted agents with contrasting backgrounds, is familiar territory, and the execution, though valiant, falls short

The show shines in its character-driven moments. Bunny and Honey’s backstories, marked by hardship and ambition, are captivating. Their transformation from ordinary individuals to complex figures is well-crafted. The nostalgic backdrop of post-liberalisation India, coupled with slick action sequences and witty pop-culture references, adds a layer of entertainment.

However, the overarching plot of global intrigue and world-saving missions lacks the necessary urgency and depth. The moral dilemmas and character arcs feel somewhat superficial, despite the strong performances from the talented cast. The writing, though occasionally sharp, often succumbs to clichés and predictable twists.

While Citadel Honey Bunny is watchable, it fails to live up to the high expectations set by Raj & DK’s previous works. The show’s strengths lie in its character-driven moments and nostalgic appeal, but its weaknesses in terms of plot and execution hinder its overall impact.

Tamil Actor Vijay Introduce TVK Flag: Signify ‘VICTORY’

Tamil actor Vijay unveiled the representative flag for his political party Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam today. Vijay officially launched the party’s flag and anthem at their head quarter in Panaiyur in Chennai on Thursday. TVK unveiled its flag at 9:15 am on thursday at the party headquarter in Panaiyur, Chennai. Along with the flag, a music featuring the party’s anthem was also released.

Vijay’s entry into politics has been anticipated for sometime due to his roles in politically themed-films. The actor also promised to work for the welfare of Tamil Nadu and said,”Tamil Nadu will be better from now on victory is sure”. During the event, Vijay said,”I know you all are waiting for our first state conference. Preparators are on for it and very soon, I will announce it. Before that I unveiled our party’s flag today. I feel very proud, we will work together for the development of Tamil Nadu. Actor and TVK chief Vijay takes pledge along with party workers and leaders at the party office in Chennai.

While reading out the pledge, actor Vijay said,

In a statement released a day earlier, Vijay described August 22,2024 as a “Great Blessing” and a proud moment in history. It is a great blessing if everyday is a new direction and a new force in history. Actor Vijay entered into politics and announced the name of his party Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam in february this year.

Vijay is now focusing on the 2026 Assembly elections and has already announced his retirement from movies after the highly anticipation action thriller GOAT, set for release on Sep 5. Vijay’s father and mother were also present at the party office during the unveiling of TVK’s flag and symbol. The party also shared its anthem, composed by S.Thaman and written by V.Vivek on its social media handling.

After the flag reveal, a massive raly will take place in the last week of september to formally launch the party in Northern Tamil Nadu. The flag is divided into three strips, while the top and bottom ones are maroon in colour, the one in the middle is yellow. The yellow strip has two elephants and the vaagai flower in the middle. The two coloured maroon and yellow flag has elephants on both sides and a peacock surrounded by stars at the centre.

The Functionaries further said approximately 5 lakh flags have been brought to the party’s headquarters and these will be distributed to district units on Thursday.

3 National Awards for “AATTAM” Movie, While Best Hindi Film Awards Goes To “GULMOHAR”

South Indian Cinema has left a notable impression by securing major victories at the 70th National Film Awards. The Malayalam film Aattam, directed by debutant Anand Ekarshi, won the award for Best Feature Film. “Three National Awards for Aattam is a tremendous achievement” says director Anand Ekarshi.

Kochi based director Anand Ekarshi, whose malayalam film Aattam won three national awards for best feature film, best screen play and best editing described the accolades as a “huge fortune” that exceeded their expectations and desires. Aattam tells the story of a theatre group whose members face a crisis when the only woman in the group speaks out about sexual harrassment. The awards were announced on friday, August 16.

The movie “Aattam” is loosely inspired by the well known American Courtroom drama & 12 Angry men. After a successful run at various film festivals, Aattam was finally released in theaters across India on January 5, 2024. The movie is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The story of Aattam follows a sexual harrassment accusation made by the only woman in a theater group. She claims that a well known star assaulted her. At first her team members support her, but their loyalities start to change when the superstar offers them a chance to perform in Europe for a big fee. As the group begins to take sides, unsetting truths emerge, stories come undone and chaos breaks out as they try to uncover what really happened.

Additionaly, The Manoj Bajpayee-led film “Gulmohar” was honored as the Best Hindi Film, while KGF Chapter-2 took the title of Best Kannada Film. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting made the announcement on August 16. Aanand Ekarshi, whose film Aattam won Best Feature Film at the 70th National  Film Awards, expressed in an interview.
