Is Your Ford on the List? 5 New Recalls Announced!

New Ford Recalls: What You Need to Know

Ford Motor Company recently announced five new recalls for over 42,000 vehicles. These recalls are important because they fix issues that could make your car more likely to catch fire or be in a crash. The problems were reported to the government (NHTSA) on May 27th.

The affected vehicles include popular models like some Broncos, F-150s, and Escapes. Ford wants to make sure everyone knows about these issues and gets them fixed for free.

Why Are These Recalls Happening?

Here’s a simpler breakdown of why these recalls are happening and what Ford is doing to fix them:

1. 2024 Ford Nautilus: Screen Problems

  • What’s wrong: On about 30,679 2024 Nautilus vehicles, the screens (like your speedometer and rearview camera) might go blank or restart. If your screen goes blank, you can’t see important information, which could lead to a crash.
  • The fix: Ford will update the software in your car. This can be done at a dealership or even over the air (like an update on your phone). It’s free.
  • When you’ll hear: Letters will likely be mailed around June 16, 2025.

2. 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning: Tire Light Doesn’t Work

  • What’s wrong: About 192 2022 F-150 Lightning trucks that had an earlier recall repair might still have a problem. The light that tells you when your tire pressure is low might not turn on. If you don’t know your tire pressure is low, it could be dangerous and lead to a crash.
  • The fix: Dealers will update the truck’s software to make sure the tire pressure warning light works correctly. This is free.
  • When you’ll hear: Letters will likely be mailed around June 23, 2025.

3. Fire Risk: Some SUVs with Engine Block Heaters

  • What’s wrong: About 6,781 vehicles, including some 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus, 2023-2025 Escape, 2023 & 2025 Lincoln Corsair, Maverick, and Bronco Sport models, have an engine block heater that could overheat and cause a fire, especially when the car is parked and plugged in.
  • The fix: Dealers will replace the part of the engine block heater that can overheat and check the power cord, replacing it if needed. This is free.
  • When you’ll hear: Letters will likely be mailed around June 6, 2025.

4. Engine Problems: Newer Transit, Explorer, and F-150 Vehicles

  • What’s wrong: About 154 2025 Transit, F-150, and Explorer vehicles might have a problem with their engine parts. This could lead to the engine breaking down, which could cause a crash.
  • The fix: Ford is still working on the exact fix for this issue.
  • When you’ll hear: Letters will likely be mailed around June 9, 2025.

5. Engine Failure & Fire Risk: Some Escape, Corsair, and Maverick SUVs

  • What’s wrong: About 1,797 2020-2023 Escape, 2021-2023 Corsair, and 2022-2023 Maverick SUVs (specifically those with 2.5L HEV or PHEV engines that were part of an earlier recall) could have engine failure. If the engine breaks, oil and fuel can leak out and potentially catch fire. If you hear strange engine noises, feel less power, or see smoke, pull over and turn off the engine as soon as you can.
  • The fix: Dealers will update the engine’s software. This is free.
  • When you’ll hear: No specific date was given, but expect to hear from Ford soon.
