Sid Vicious passed away at the age of 63 after battling cancer. Many might not know Sid Vicious was battling a prolonged illness. Battle was diagnosed with a rare kind of cancer. He had a type of bone cancer called “CHRONDRASARCOUMA”. A multiple time world champion i both WCW and WWE, his death was announced by his son, Gunnar Eudy, on social media on Monday.
Sid Vicious Career:
Eudy was a six time world champion.
- WWF Championship twice.
- WCW World Heavy Weight Championship twice.
- USWA Unified World Heavy Weight Chapionship twice.
Vicious was trained by TOJO YAMAMOTO. He began his career as wrestler in 1997 in Continental Championship Wrestling under a mask,going by the in-ring name of Lord Humungous. He is most notable for his time in WCW from 1989 to 1991 as part of the skyscrapers with “Dangerous”. Dav Spivey and a part of the four horseman.
“Known as ‘The Master and Ruler of the World’, Sid’s reputation as one of the toughest and most thrilling superstar cemented his legacy in WWE and his influence can still be seen in wrestling rings around the world”, the WWE said. After leaving WCW, Vicious signed a contract with the WWE/F. He went under the in-ring name of Sid justice. He voluntarily quit the company in 1992 after creative differences.
On August 5, 2017, Vicious ended up wrestling the last match of his career defeating Paul Rosenberg in Ottawa, Ontario for great north wrestling. In the year 2020, Sid told his fans he had been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer and is now battling the illness. After fighting for four years, Sid Vicious left the world on August 26, 2024 at the age of 63 years.
Sycho Sid has had some high profile matches with legends like Ric flair, Shawn michaels, The Undertaker and many more. He headlined the 1992 Wrestle Mania against Hulk Hogan and westled with the name of Sid Justice but they reached the career’s after the defeated Shawn Michael at the 1996 Survivor Series in Madison Square Garden. The news was first broke by Sid’s son Gunnar Eudy on Facebook.
Gunnar shared on Facebook:”Memory of my father, Sid Eudy. Dear friends and family, I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Sid Eudy has passed away battling cancer for several years”, Gunnar wrote on Facebook. “He was a man of strength, kindness and love and his presence will be greatly missed. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we grieve this loss. Details for a memorial service will be shared soon. Thank you for your support”.
Eudy’s last appearance on WWE was “RAW” in 2012, a special appearance ahead of the show’s 1000th episode. Eudy is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sabrine Paige and their sons Gunnar and Frank. The world of professional wrestling has lost mutiple legends this year so far, from the passing away of the wild Samoan’s father and uncle of forner WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and now Sid Vicious.
American Professional Wrestler Marc Mero wrote,” So sad to hear that friend and wrestling superstar Sid Eudy (Sid vicious and Sid Justice) has passed away at 63 from cancer. He was one of the first wrestler I wrestled when I was trying out for WCW. What a great guy. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and his millions of fans”.
