Prime Minister, PM Narendra Modi, launches LIC’s Bima Sakhi Yojana to Bolster Women’s Empowered.

On December 9, 2024 The Prime Minister of India ‘Shri Narendra Modi’ officially inaugurated LIC’s Bima Sakhi Yojana at Panipat, Haryana. In this yojana, women would have the chances to independently earn income by becoming agent (Bima Sakhi).

Modi ji discussed about many government programs aimed at income sources for women as well as empowering women.

He also says that each women will make good amount of income and can contribute to the livelihood for their families by joining LIC’s Bima Sakhi.

Hon. Union Minister of Finance and Corporate affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman talked about the government’s various effort to empower women, including the Beti Bachao-Beti Padao, Namo Drone Didi, Lakhpati Didi and many more.

How To Apply For Bima Sakhi Yojana?

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Age group of 18-70 years with 10th Grade is entitled to apply for this yojana ‘Bima Sakhi’.
  • Graduate can apply to be considered for LIC Development Officer.
Goal:

The Prime Minister considered that the main motive of this yojana ‘Bima Sakhi’ is to give 2 lakh women employment opportunities. 

Benefits:
  • Bima Sakhi Yojana will provide 3 years of training and financial assistance to women’s who completed 10th Grade.
  • Bima Sakhi Yojana will earn only Rs 1.175 lakh every year, providing income for family, citing statistics from the insurance industry, that indicates an average LIC agent makes 15,000 per month.
Specialities:

The ‘Bima Sakhi Yojana’ will train 1 lakh women across India as LIC agent, including 8,000 from Haryana. These women will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 7,000 in the first year, Rs 6,000 in the second and Rs 5,000 in the third, while promoting financial  literacy.
